I’m Marisa.

I’m currently pursuing my PhD in Sociology at the University of Cambridge. My research interests are largely in digital labor where I study worker perspectives, impacts of tech on everyday life and work, and how different forms of capital impact understandings of class position and solidarity.

I also work in the decentralized tech space - co-founding a small fintech company that’s now a part of Blacksky and the open source AT Protocol ecosystem (over 40M users). In addition, I’m President of a nonprofit that acts as a fiscal host to 25+ of NYC’s grassroots organizations to help them mobilize.
